Integrated environmental risk assessment was the focus in the December issue of Science for Environment Policy from the European commission's environment department.
It focused on some of the challenges, including predicting combinations of risks that can have an impact on various environmental dimensions, such as climate and eutrophication, to enable effective priority-setting.
Another challenge covered in the publication was the inclusion of socio-economic aspects in environmental risk assessment.
