CIWEM calls for experts to share green best practice
The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) is calling for presentations for its 2012 annual conference examining how well the UK is working towards a green revolution.
The conference, to be held in London on 20–21 March 2012, will look at the potential of a green economy to create green jobs and low-carbon living, and how far the UK has come in achieving a green revolution.
The event will include selected keynote speakers, papers and presentations that share knowledge and best practice across the water and environment sector.
CIWEM wants speakers able to demonstrate ideas and innovations that will enable a more sustainable future and is in particular interested in presentations on flood risk management, climate change, water management and waste management addressing the following themes:
- “Futures” issues
- New business opportunities and models
- Green investment
- Change management
- Global water security and interactions with energy, food and carbon
- Integration and partnership working
- Regulation
- European and international case studies
- Valuing the environment and ecosystem services
- European Commission blueprint for water
- Influencing government direction
