Statutory guidance - Waste Duty of Care Code of Practice

The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs and Environment Agency published updated guidance on how to meet waste duty of care requirements in England and Wales. The Code of Practice applies to businesses if they produce, carry, keep, dispose of, treat, import or have control of waste in England or Wales. This code is issued under section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. The Code of Practice was first published in March 2016, and subsequently updated in November 2018.

Animal By-Products

The Animal By-Products and Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (England) (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018 (SI 2018 No. 1120) are made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 8(1) of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c.16) in order to address failures of retained direct EU legislation to operate effectively and other deficiencies (in particular paragraphs (a), (d) and (g) of section 8(2)) arising from the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union
