Free Decc events to promote energy efficiency

The energy department and the Carbon Trust have launched a series of public exhibitions to raise awareness of climate change, power generation and saving energy

Decc is hosting three free exhibitions over the coming weeks in cities across England to improve individuals’ and organisations’ understanding of the impacts of energy consumption and climate change.

The “British Energy Challenge” opens today (6 September) with an event in Manchester, and will be followed up by events in Newcastle (20 September) and Bristol (10 October).

The exhibitions explain why energy generation and use is “one of the most urgent issues facing the UK”, how it impacts the economy and the environment, and why it needs to change.

Decc is encouraging businesses, groups, individuals and schools to come to the events, which include information on renewable energy technologies, electric cars, climate change and tips on how to cut energy consumption.
