Martin Baxter to chair EMAS awards 2019

Sustainability body IEMA has today revealed chief policy advisor Martin Baxter has been appointed to chair the prestigious EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme Awards 2019.

The ceremony taking place on 25 November in Bilbao, Spain, allows the European Commission to recognise the achievements of organisations which use EMAS to drive change towards a sustainable future.

EMAS is a voluntary initiative developed by the European Commission designed to improve organisations' environmental performance.

Martin Baxter will be leading an international panel of judges. Commenting on his appointment he acknowledged the huge honour, adding:

Business as usual isn't an option if we're to make the transformation to a sustainable future and these awards will be a celebration of those EMAS registered organisations that are making positive change“.
