The Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) (Wales) Regulations 2016 consolidate with amendments the provisions of the Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) (England and Wales) Regulations 1999 (as amended)by introducing a requirement for negative screening decisions reasons to be provided and be made available for public inspection. Sites for the geological storage of carbon dioxide are now subject to environmental impact assessments. These Regulations also raise and amend the thresholds at which certain types of development project will need to be screened in order to determine whether an environmental impact assessment is required.
