Join the IEMA Midland Regional Group for an online seminar exploring the 2022 winter storms that caused a channel side collapse in Matlock, Derbyshire, compromising a floodwall and putting around 50 properties and businesses at risk. The event will look at the technical challenges faced to deliver an immediate response to prevent further collapse, then substantial works over 18 months to rebuild the wall and reinstate flood defence to the town centre. Discussions will also cover the impacts of climate change on the River Derwent, aging infrastructure, and the sustainability challenges and opportunities addressed during the project.
