For Associate exams, you will receive your membership e-certificate within 6 weeks after the month in which you passed your exam. For Practitioner, Full or Fellow assessments, you will receive your membership e-certificate up to 4 weeks after your final results have been issued to you.
For Practitioner candidates, once your exam window has closed it will take up to 5 working days for your status to update on the website.

When you apply for Student membership you are asked to provide an expected graduation date. You will be contacted prior to this date to notify you of your next steps - you can upgrade to GradIEMA or AIEMA, depending on your eligibility. You will need to check the entry requirements and the membership standard to confirm which grade you are eligible for. If you chose not to upgrade, your membership grade will change to Affiliate at your next renewal.
