As a university, you’ll want to ensure that graduates leaving your environment and sustainability degree programmes have the right knowledge, skills and tools to deliver value in a global economy. By becoming an IEMA University Partner, you can make sure that your graduates have the expertise and understanding that they need to secure a job and drive change.

How to become an Approved IEMA University Partner

To become an Approved IEMA University Partner, universities must ensure that their degree programme(s) align to the content in our IEMA Sustainability Skills Map. Universities will be asked to complete a mapping exercise, highlighting how the course content meets our internationally recognised Graduate standard. Once this has been accepted by one of our assessors, your course(s) will become approved by IEMA and you will become an IEMA University Partner. All University Partners will have access to an Approved University Partner logo, a certificate and presence on our website.

Membership

Ensure your graduates entering the sustainability profession are ready for the workplace. A partnership with us offers free IEMA Student membership for all your students on approved programmes, underpinning their studies with an invaluable toolkit of resources. All successful graduates will then have the option to upgrade to Graduate membership and/or accelerate towards enhanced professional recognition with a fast-track application to Practitioner membership.

Network

Engage with IEMA’s networks and steering groups, ideally positioning you to promote and showcase your courses, network with employers and share best practice. Your students will also have the opportunity to connect with environment and sustainability professionals to help them develop their network and gain insights into their chosen profession.

Affiliation

Demonstrate your commitment to putting environment and sustainability management at the heart of your university school or directorate, by profiling the IEMA University Partner logo on your web pages and promotional materials. We’ll also add your logo, bio and link to our website to promote both our affiliation and your approved courses.

Support

Access support from an IEMA representative at an online or on-campus event each year to ensure that staff and students know how to fully engage with IEMA and make the most out of the partnership. Benefit from regular contact and collaboration with IEMA to continuously develop your teaching materials and curriculum with the help of IEMA’s resources and a complementary Affiliate membership for one member of staff.
