The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has published the final part of its Fourth Assessment Report (AR4) 'Climate Change 2007'.

The Synthesis Report follows the release of three earlier IPCC Working Groups contributions to the AR4. The report concludes that warming of the climate system is unequivocal and that observational evidence from all continents and most oceans shows that many natural systems are being affected by regional climate changes.

The report concludes that a wide array of adaptation options is available, but more extensive adaptation than is currently occurring is required to reduce vulnerability to climate change.
