The revision of the energy efficiency in buildings directive

This year the European Commission is set to revise the 2002 Energy Performance of buildings directive. Energy efficiency in the building sector is considered crucial for the EU to reach its 2020 energy policy targets. At the moment the Commission is concerned that action isn’t being taken quick enough. The Commission has therefore launched an on-line public consultation to identify how the EU can encourage Member States to improve the energy performance of buildings. The deadline is the 20th June 2008.
