The Grott Box – Waste Food Solution?

The National Industrial Symbiosis Programme member Angelheart Inc has developed 'The Grott Box' - a patent pending compostable caddy. The container is a cardboard box which features a biodegradable wax layer on the inside making it waterproof from the inside out. The box also comes with a snug-fitting lid to ensure that any mess or odour is contained within the box and more importantly the whole box can be composted once full. NISP has recently completed a successful month's trial of the Grott Box at three schools in Yorkshire and is currently working with a number of members to sign up additional schools to incorporate the Grott Box system in the region and across the rest of the UK.
