1801 new members have joined IEMA in the first seven months of 2010.

Between 1st January 2010 and today (Friday 23rd July) IEMA has welcomed 1801 new members to the Institute.

This figure helps us to continue being the body that places the environmental professional at the heart of change.

The new members come from a wide range of organisations, including; Airbus UK, Atkins Ltd, Amey Plc, AEA Technology, AECOM Ltd, Balfour Beatty Group, Barratt Homes, Boortmalt, BP (Angola), British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB), Britvic Soft Drinks Ltd, BUPA, Business Link, Capita Symonds Ltd, Corus Strip Products, Costain, DHL Supply Chain, Environment Agency, GlaxoSmithKline, Groundwork, Halcrow Group Ltd, Heineken UK, JCB, Magnox North & South, Manufacturing Advisory Services, Metropolitan Police, Ministry of Defence (MOD), Mouchel, Natural England, Proctor and Gamble UK, Royal Haskoning, Royal Navy, Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), Syral UK Ltd, TWI Middle East FZ LLC and WYG Environment.

The range of job titles represented among the new members is as diverse as it is lengthy! From Analysis And Reporting Officer to Water & Soil Protection Specialist via a Brewing Shift Manager and many Environmental Consultants, it is encouraging to see environmental training and development being embraced by so many disciplines.

The Institute is pleased to welcome so many Students on board, right at the start of their careers. The students that have joined this year are studying at institutions including Aberystwyth University, Birkbeck University of London, Coventry University, Cranfield University, Dublin Institute of Technology, Glasgow Caledonian University, Heriot-Watt University, Imperial College, Keele University, Kingston University, Lancaster University, Newcastle University, Sheffield Hallam University, Teesside University, University Of Brighton, University of Derby, University of Leeds, University of Manchester, University of Plymouth, University of Southampton, University of St Andrews, University of Sunderland and the University of York.
