05/12/2008

London Mayor Boris Johnson published on 25 November his 'London climate change adaptationstrategy - draft'. The strategy sets out his proposed priorities including: work with London boroughs so Londoners can access to zero upfront cost energy efficiency measures; investment in Combined Heat & Power; expansion of the Building Energy Efficiency Programme to all public sector buildings; 10 new Low Carbon Zones; incentives for recycling schemes such as Recycle Bank; investment in improving green spaces and parks; 10000 new street trees; and a New York style 101 number providing a one-stop information source for public services and for reporting non-emergency problems such as fly tipping and graffiti.
