Lorna Pilbin has been named the winner of IEMA’s Graduate Award 2012 at a London ceremony this evening.
Recognised for her dedication, professionalism and ability to make change happen, Lorna received her trophy and cheque from IEMA’s CEO Jan Chmiel and Neil Pennell from Sponsor Land Securities at tonight’s Sustainability Leaders Awards, held at the Grange St Paul’s Hotel in London.
Upon receiving her prize, Lorna said “I am in shock! Originally I didn’t even know I’d been nominated so to be here and to now win this is huge for me.”
“I have always wanted to work in the environment so to get this recognition for the work I’ve done feels great.” she added.
Hayley Jewitt from Laing O’Rourke and Lucy Barrett of Stockport Homes were each named at Runners Up, receiving a £500 prize and one year’s IEMA Graduate membership. Finalists Joe Clark and Agnieszka Chuchla also receive one year’s Graduate membership.
For more on this year’s finalists and winners look out for the December issue of The Environmentalist.
Thanks go to our sponsor Land Securities and to Edie and Sustainable Business for providing space at their ceremony.
