In December 2012, IEMA presented the IEMA Graduate Award (sponsored by Land Securities) to winner Lorna Pilbin from British Gypsum.
The IEMA Graduate Award is presented annually in recognition of emerging environmental talent and its role in the green economy. Lorna, along with runners-Up Lucy Barrett and Hayley Jewitt (pictured L-R), received their prizes from IEMA’s CEO Jan Chmiel and Land Securities’ Neil Pennell at the Edie Sustainability Leaders Awards on 5th December.
As award-winning early-career professionals, Lorna, Lucy and Hayley have clearly succeeded in their first green roles. Now others who are just starting out in the environment profession can benefit from their advice as the three winners now offer their career tips to anyone who is aiming to land their first environmental role, either as a recent graduate or following a career change.
