Environmental management is critical in supporting the sustainability of business, people and planet. It enables organisations to identify, manage and mitigate risk, whilst taking the opportunity to deliver for stakeholders and sustainability. Elements such as complying with environmental regulations and obligations, managing resources better, and improving performance are just a few of the essential components in IEMA’s guiding principle of transforming the world to sustainability.
IEMA carried out an Expression of Interest process earlier this year and has now set up a new Environmental Management Steering Group, with members representing key areas of the sector. The membership of the group is as follows:
- April Sotomayor, Head of Industry Sustainability, BAFTA albert
- Becca Tremain, Senior Advisor - Future Regulation, Environment Agency
- Gillian Gibson, Environmental Scientist, Gibson Consulting and Training
- Darren Male, Director and Principal Consultant, The QUENSH Consultancy Limited
- Lloyd Clark, Environment & Sustainability Design Manager, Meridian Energy Ltd
- Matthew Goldberg, Environment Manager, SSE
- Nigel Leehane, Director and Principal Consultant, Leehane Environmental Consulting Ltd
- Ollie Funnell, Head of Environmental Transaction Services, TetraTech
- James Keegan, Associate Director, WSP
- Alicia Dauth, Senior Associate Environmental Consultant, AESG
- Kieran Doona, EHS Manager, Wills Bros Civil Engineering Ltd
- Jackson Smith, Environmental Responsibility Manager, Stella McCartney
The group will have oversight of the development and delivery of policy and practice for environmental management. It will identify gaps in industry and sector knowledge and skills, and help steer, develop and produce content to support other IEMA professionals.
We welcome members to register their interest in the environmental management network by updating your preferences using this link. The new network will be launched this Spring.
