In response to the UK Government's reshuffle and appointment of Claire Coutinho MP as secretary of state at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, Sarah Mukherjee MBE, IEMA's CEO, said:
“IEMA congratulates Claire Coutinho MP on her promotion to secretary of state at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, but stability is now crucial.
“The challenges the UK faces in achieving its net zero goals remain significant and it is important that the new secretary of state hits the ground running.
“We believe, along with many others, that a clear investment and deployment roadmap for onshore wind as recommended by the Skidmore Review is needed, plus a speedier regime for other good, clean renewable energy projects to connect to the grid.”
