In response to the UK government demonstrating its commitment to reversing the decline in nature by being one of the first countries to contribute to a newly established international fund aimed at tackling global biodiversity loss, IEMA's CEO, Sarah Mukherjee MBE said:
"The establishment of this fund is an encouraging sign.
“However, delivery of the UN Global Biodiversity Framework will require businesses globally to act, and at present, it is difficult for them to know where to start, which presents a barrier to investment.
“IEMA and the UK Business & Biodiversity Forum (UKBBF) are developing recommendations, tools and resources to help UK businesses contribute to the requirements of the UN Global Biodiversity Framework and its alignment with domestic policy."
