About John

John Hill has been a part – time Independent Adviser on Environmental Management, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Business Sustainability, and Stakeholder Accountability since taking early retirement from International Energy Company, TXU Europe, as Sustainable Business Manager in 2001.

About Antony

Antony is an experienced sustainability professional, programme manager and facilitator, specialising in resource efficiency and environmental management. He is a Chartered Environmentalist and full member of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment. Antony has over 20 years experience working on a range of publicly funded business support programmes as well as with corporate clients. He has worked in the not-for-profit sector, for local authorities and in consultancy.

About David

Based at Suffolk County Council, David works as the Climate Emergency Programme Manager, working with stakeholders across the county and region towards the aim of a carbon neutral Suffolk. As a member of the committee he is motivated to improve the regional membership and voice. A member of IEMA since 2009, he currently holds Full and CEnv. status.

About Richard

Twenty-four years’ experience in environmental impact assessment (EIA), consent regimes for infrastructure projects and management systems. Prepared Environmental Statements, with a strong track record in effective EIA screening and scoping; commissioning and co-ordinating specialist contributions to EIAs; advising on scheme design in relation to environmental constraints; and liaising with planning authorities and other stakeholders. A wide range of clients has included transportation infrastructure providers utilities, property developers and local government. Based in Cambridge, England and employed by Mott MacDonald since 2008.

About Andrew

Since 2018, Andrew has been leading a rail industry level decarbonisation research programme. This initially supported the Rail Industry Decarbonisation Taskforce. It has included projects to assess the industry's footprint, consider interim targets and pathways to the industry achieving net zero, looked at how to bring hydrogen and battery trains into service and developed industry-level decarbonisation action plans and supply chain management.

Andrew’s career has demonstrated his lifelong interest in sustainability including policy making and legislative development, municipal and chemical waste management, land use planning and development, nuclear safety, aviation security, emergency response management in a range of organisations including global private companies, government-owned organisations and consultancies across a range of sectors, including transport and logistics, construction, civil engineering, natural resources, retail and media. ​ More recently, he worked in rail decarbonisation, authoring the Rail Industry Decarbonisation Taskforce report to the Minister for Rail.​ He has worked on the editorial board of the ICE’s Engineering Sustainability journal as well as sitting on their environment and sustainability panel. He is a member of the IEMA East of England Regional Committee.​ Andrew has been a trustee for his local alms house association, is a governor for his local primary school, and is a director for a small property management company.

About Katherine

I have worked in the sustainability sector for just 9 years, working mainly within further and higher education to improve their environmental credentials. However, I have also worked in different sectors including student recruitment into higher education and teaching English in Japan for three years. I've had a lifelong interest in the natural work and I am lucky to have been able to turn my interest into my career. I'm also passionate advocate of volunteering.

About Elysia

I am an Environmental Management Officer at West Suffolk Council where I focus on achieving our net zero goal by 2030 and enabling the energy and sustainability transition across the district. I hold a first-class degree in Environmental Science from the University of East Anglia and I am an Associate member of IEMA. Outside of work, I volunteer with the charity Plover Rovers, coordinating events to improve marine literacy. Otherwise, I am usually found outdoors, oden doing water sports or on an adventure with a hiking group.

Currently a Governance, Risk and Compliance manager monitoring ISO and Achilles Certifications for 2 businesses with approx 200 direct employees and a similar number of subcontractors. Facilitates management and training across a number of sites. Manage team of safety advisors. Used to dealing with directors and operational staff. Over 20 years experience in Management Systems and over 20 years in Sales & Distribution.

About Judith

I am a postgraduate student in M.Sc Environmental Management with the University of Hertfordshire with interest in Sustainability and Climate change. I am keen to apply my knowledge and key skills gained through both my studies and industry related work experience. I have gained relevant knowledge and experience through my studies in testing and monitoring water quality and an understanding of contaminants such soil, sediments, groundwater, and surface water for the general protection of human health. Undergoing a service-learning project by volunteering in an integrated waste and pollution control program in my local community has aided my abilities in data collection and records for analysis. Modules in environmental policy and Governance have increased my knowledge of the current environmental issues, policies, and legislation of Natural resources management. My part-time employment as a care giver has made me grow in the ability to communicate and relate with people from diverse backgrounds, managing challenging situations concerning health and safety of my clients and colleagues in a professional and timely manner while sticking to team schedule.

Princess is currently a PhD student having research interests in the areas of sustainable entrepreneurship, sustainable entrepreneurship, and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystems. She has a strong interest in sustainability activities particularly in relation to organisational action towards attaining sustainable development, and also in how developing countries address the issues of sustainability ingeniously.

About Alicja

My name is Alicja Holland (PIEMA) and I work in the public sector as Projects & Finance Officer of a mid-size Town Council. This role is fantastic as it allows me to enhance the town and bring all aspects of sustainability into the public forum. Working with many partners in the town, District Councils and forums and boards within the town, I can use IEMA to influence decisions and projects. I also have my own accounting business on the side which means I get to share how sustainability and finance work side by side within other businesses and help others grow their own businesses sustainably. Through this, I also teach accounting and bookkeeping as an associate lecturer for West Suffolk College, as well IEMA courses as an accredited IEMA tutor. Previously, I spent 9 years in the brewing industry and working alongside the Head of Finance and Sustainability and the Sustainability Manager at Adnams PLC which taught me a wealth of knowledge as the leading sustainable brewer in the industry at that time.

Hello! My name is Laura. I am Italian and I have been in England for nearly 8 years. I have always loved science and after university I became particularly interested in Environmental Science. I live with my boyfriend and my black and white cat. In my free time I volunteer at a local RSPCA charity shop, I like walking in the countryside and spending time with my friends.

About Andra

Andra has been supporting the research and development of sustainable solutions and uptake of green technologies, becoming an Associate Member of IEMA in 2022, being keen to enhance her skills and competencies and to demonstrate her personal and professional commitment to her profession and the environment. Andra has a background in Civil Engineering and Energy Efficiency and has had a continuous interest in sustainability and innovative net zero applications. For the past few years, Andra has been responsible for managing a growing network of Innovation Centres focused on industrial decarbonisation, circular economy and renewable energy, and has been working closely with technical academic experts, SMEs and industrial organisations. Currently, in her Innovation Manager role at The Carbon Trust, Andra is delivering support across a portfolio of innovative clean technologies, drawing on sector knowledge and working with innovators on building their propositions and plans to unlock new technologies, business models and collaborations.

I am an Environmental Management Masters student. My interest lies in building a sustainable business where environmental impacts are properly managed. I believe reaching out to different people will increase advocacy for everyone to take action toward environmental protection.

About Fex

As a Masters student in Environmental Management and Impact Assessment at the University of East Anglia, I joined IEMA to enrich my passion for sustainability and develop expertise to protect the environment. With 7 years of experience as a Health Safety Environment Manager in Dubai, I obtained ISO 14001 and NEBOSH certifications and managed environmental initiatives for companies. Eager to further build my capabilities, I highly value IEMA's offerings to help me serve as an effective advocate for reducing ecological impacts. By combining my practical background in implementing environmental programs with the knowledge gained through my graduate studies and IEMA training, I am well-equipped to promote responsible practices that conserve resources and prevent pollution. I am enthusiastic to apply my expanding skillset and experiences to foster positive change and contribute to building a more sustainable future. My goal is to utilize my knowledge to conduct assessments, advise organizations, and develop solutions that minimize environmental harms.
