About Edward

Ed is a Marine Energy specialist with specific experience in the assessment, consenting and development of marine-based infrastructure projects, including subsea transmission and offshore wind. A Chartered Environmentalist, Chartered Marine Technologist and Chartered Water & Environment Manager, Ed has experience working on several Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects; this DCO experience spans offshore wind, CCUS, nuclear new build and a range of other coastal energy projects. Alongside his day-to-day role with global energy consultancy Xodus, Ed is a member of the IEMA marine development steering group and sits on the regional Energy Institute committee. Ed is a regular contributor to professional journals across IEMA, IMarEST, CIWEM and the Energy Institute focusing particularly on coastal power and CCUS. When not at work, Ed enjoys scuba diving, fell running and road cycling.

About Nigel

I have spent over 25 years in the environment field, much of that time as the Global Head of Environment at RRplc. I am passionate about the need to embrace circularity and sustainability and enjoy working with groups to deliver related improvement programmes and management systems that will make a difference. I have experience of working both at an international level with large corporates and also SMEs. Previously I have served IEMA on the BSI standards committee and also the Midlands Steering Group, both as Chair and a member. I am a Fellow of IEMA and a Chartered Environmentalist.

About Ifeanyi

Ifeanyi is a Chartered Environmentalist and Chartered Town Planner with a background in Marine Environmental Management and Marine Planning. His experience includes planning appeals, EIA, HRA and development consent orders for nationally significant infrastructure projects. He is currently working as an environmental expert with Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities, providing advice on environmental matters in relation to development plan implementation, as well as undertaking Environmental Impact Assessment and Habitats Regulation Assessment for proposed schemes.

About Steve

I am a North East based environmental advisor with 16 years experience, predominantly within the construction sector on utilities and highways projects. I have worked and continue to work all over the UK, currently as environmental advisor for national grid covering an array of gas transmission projects. My key interest areas are ecology/biodiversity and waste management but I am primarily focussed on environmental management on construction projects.

About Paul

Currently MGL Group in-house Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Manager acting as a mentor to SHEQ Department team member; I oversee all SHEQ matters from our Head Office from a strategic point of view, supplemented by frequent site visits. Additionally, I ensure appropriate levels of support to project leads and regional leadership, offering guidance and governance that will enhance and continually improve both individual sites and our overall business SHEQ performance and risk identification mitigation.

Senior Environmental Consultant and Director of Imvelo Ltd, providing expert environmental consultancy and training to UK businesses to help meet the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. I work with businesses in all sectors to ensure legal compliance, prevent pollution, increase business resilience and resource efficiency.

An experienced environmental professional who has a background in management systems, internal and external auditing of management systems namely, quality environment, occupational health and safety, and asset management, and more recently systems thinking. I have worked in the waste management sector since 2008 with key responsibilities for Environment and Industrial Risk.

About Sarah

Sarah is the Environmental Technical Manager at Sembcorp Energy UK with 9 years' experience delivering practical environmental management in the manufacturing and utility sectors. She is passionate about driving environmental best practice culture and Environmental & Energy Management System implementation and auditing. She studied MEnv BSc Environmental Science at the University of Leeds and Monash University (Melbourne, Australia). She is a Practitioner member of IEMA and Registered Environmental Practitioner (PIEMA REnvP).

About Rebecca

Rebecca Shadlock is a Technical Director for the Environment and Sustainability at Mott MacDonald based in Newcastle. An experienced environmental professional with eighteen years work experience. Rebecca started her career with the Environment Agency and progressed to work in petrochemicals, manufacturing and construction and is currently working for a global engineering, development and management consultancy. Rebecca is a natural leader and is focused on adding value and working collaboratively to deliver business priorities whilst minimising environmental impact and delivering sustainable outcomes.

About James

I am an Associate Director in the Turner & Townsend sustainability business, working across the sustainability agenda since 2009. Having worked in roles addressing energy, green infrastructure, governance, strategy, management systems, pollution prevention and GHG accounting across a range of public and private sector clients, I then moved in to the construction sector, tackling the big topics of embodied carbon and operational carbon in our buildings. Subsequently, I returned to consultancy where I work across a global portfolio, predominantly in the net zero carbon space, decarbonising construction and complex estates, among other sustainability topics.
