The new toolkit from IEMA, 'Practical steps for decarbonising local plans' sets out how local planning authorities can assess the carbon emissions impacts of local plan policy, and how they can integrate their planning functions and climate change action plans. This webinar will introduce this new resource, and will be of use to planners, climate officers and consultants working on new local plans or updating existing plans. The toolkit sets out practical steps for understanding carbon budgets and estimating business as usual emissions versus the emissions from alternative policy routes. This will be of particular use to any local authority that has made a declaration of climate emergency and has set itself net zero targets that are earlier than 2050.
